The Kiwi Collection 2026

I was talking to a friend about last years Artisan Collection and how special it was collaborating with fibre artists around the world with a shared passion for Haunui Wool. I passed a comment about how a huge percentage of our wool is sent overseas…. this gave us an idea!

Why don’t we theme this years box on collaborating with all NZ dyers to share with the world? And so the Kiwi Collection was born!

I kept the same concept as last year, giving each fibre artist a different Haunui Wool base to play with. There was no theme, I wanted the artists to be free to create whatever they desired with how their natural base inspired them. My favourite part of organizing this collection is seeing each persons individual flair come through in their braids.

I hope you love this unique collection, perhaps this is also an opportunity for you to discover someone new!

Thank you from all of us…
Bonnie, Amber, Laura, Amy, Marina, Harriet and the sheep!

Ambear Liz Makes- Amber is based in Gisborne, on the East Coast of the North Island.
Amber is passionate about all things handcraft. She loves to make her own clothes, whether that is sewing or spinning/knitting. She has studied art and loves to adventure with colours, seeing what combinations of moody and bright she can put together.

Hand Maiden- Amy is based in Gore, down at the bottom of the South Island.
Amy’s love for slow crafts was sparked from her childhood handcrafting projects with her grandmother and this has led to her continued creativity in fibre art.

Teapot Yarns- Laura is based in Auckland, our biggest City at the top of the North island.
Laura is a former medical scientist who adores all things shiny and playing with colour to cultivate her art on yarn and fibre!

Strawberry Patches- Marina is also based in the big City of Auckland.
Marina is passionate about bright, happy colours and finds a lot of inspiration from the nature around her here in New Zealand.

Union Fibre- Bonnie is based in Wellington, the New Zealand Capital, at the bottom of the North Island.
Bonnie is no stranger to special Haunui projects. Sadly she has been very busy this year studying full time and she hasn’t had a lot of time to play with her fibre art but we were so excited that she could make time to join us in this exciting project!
